For industrial companies

Questions from industrial companies

Common questions about how RoboConnect works for industrial companies considering or starting an automation project.

What is RoboConnect?

RoboConnect is an independent platform that helps industrial companies clarify and structure needs for automation, robotics and industrial process automation.

The aim is to make it easier to describe the project clearly before you move on with system integrators, technology suppliers or R&D actors. RoboConnect facilitates needs clarification, matching and introductions, but is not a party to the delivery itself.

Is it free to submit a need?

Yes. For industrial companies it is free and without obligation to register a need under the current model.

You do not pay to submit information, to have the need assessed or to be matched with relevant actors. RoboConnect also takes no commission on the contract you sign — agreements, quotes and contracts are entered into directly between you and the actor you choose to move forward with.

How does the process work?

The process normally has four steps:

  • You register an automation need or project.
  • RoboConnect helps structure information about the process, goals, constraints and requirements.
  • RoboConnect assesses which actors may be relevant to the project.
  • You can approve contact with relevant actors and choose who you want to continue the dialogue with.

The purpose is to give you a better project basis before you enter the supplier dialogue.

What kind of information do we have to submit?

You describe things such as what you want to automate, your current process, challenges, volumes, variation, goals and any requirements for the solution.

You do not need a finished specification. Helping an unclear need become more structured is exactly what RoboConnect is for.

Do we need to know which solution we need in advance?

No. Many companies know they have an automation need but are unsure which solution fits best.

RoboConnect helps you describe and structure the need. Once the project is sufficiently clarified, we can identify system integrators, technology suppliers or R&D actors that are relevant to your project basis.

Who is the project shared with?

The project may be shared in anonymised form with relevant actors that RoboConnect considers a possible fit for the need.

Your company name and contact information are not shared until you have approved that contact can be opened.

How is anonymity handled?

The project can be presented anonymously at first. Actors can receive information about the need, the industry, the process and the requirements, but not your name or contact information.

Contact information is only shared once both parties have consented to contact.

Who chooses the actors we talk to?

RoboConnect can suggest relevant actors based on your need. You decide for yourselves who you want to move forward with.

Is RoboConnect responsible for the quote or the delivery?

No. RoboConnect is not a party to the delivery and does not negotiate price, timeline or contract terms.

You negotiate directly with the actor you choose. RoboConnect’s role is to contribute a clearer basis and a more structured route into the supplier dialogue.

What happens if we sign a contract with an actor?

If you enter into an agreement with an actor you were introduced to through RoboConnect, RoboConnect must be notified.

This matters for traceability and so that RoboConnect can follow up the process in line with the terms.

Can we use several actors on the same project?

Yes. Some projects may require several actors — for example one system integrator, one technology supplier or one R&D actor.

It depends on the scope and the needs of the project.

Can we bypass RoboConnect after an introduction?

No. If you are introduced to an actor through RoboConnect, the continued dialogue and any agreement must be handled in line with RoboConnect’s terms.

This safeguards confidentiality, traceability and an orderly process for all parties.
